Healing With Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a science-based profession and takes a ‘whole person’ approach to health and wellbeing, which includes the patient’s general lifestyle. At the core is the patient’s involvement in their own care, through education, awareness, empowerment and participation in their treatment.
You can benefit from physiotherapy at any time in your life. Physiotherapy helps with back pain or sudden injury, managing long-term medical condition such as asthma, and in preparing for childbirth or a sporting event.
Manual Therapy
Our therapists can provide you with hands-on manual therapy techniques that aim to manipulate and mobilize your soft tissue (ie. muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia etc), improve joint mobility, develop efficient movement patterns and decrease pain.
Common manual therapy techniques include: deep tissue release, trigger point therapy, myofascial release, friction scar/adhesion release, joint mobilizations and on occasion joint manipulations.
Exercise Prescription
Along with our manual therapy techniques, our goal as therapists is to empower you to take care of your own health. Exercises are one of the best ways to do so. By providing you with comprehensive instructions on proper biomechanics, a personalized exercise program can be developed to help you regain optimal physical function.
Whether you are immobile or unstable, our therapists can assess your needs and provide you with strengthening and mobility exercises to rehabilitate and prevent injury or disability.
